The outer ring is a polished stainless steel that has been gold plated while the inner part is a heavily silver plated bronze laser cut thin plate.

This Gold plating has been done by real professionals and will not wear off with standard wear and tear. Its a highly durable modern technique and not like the method that used to be done in times past.
The chain is a stainless steel 24 inch snake slinky chain that is long enough to fit over the head without using the clasp.
